your home. When pipes freeze in your home the water inside them expands which can cause
the pipes to burst. If this were to happen it can cause flooding in your home and nobody wants
that to happen. Some ways to prevent frozen pipes in your home are:

  •  Keep your home warm especially if you are away from your home for an extended
period of time and this will keep your pipes from freezing or bursting

  • Insulate your pipes with foam insulation or heat tape to keep them warm.
  • Seal all leaks that all cold air into your home. If you have drafts by your windows or
doors seal them with weather stripping or caulk
  • Disconnect hoses and don’t forget to drain outdoor hoses before the first freeze. Close
the indoor valves that send water to the outdoor faucets. Don’t forget to open the
faucet outside after doing this to allow for any remaining water to drain out.
  • Know how to shut off your water you can do this by locating your main water shutoff
    valve and turning it off

If you do the above this will help to prevent your pipes from freezing and costly repairs
